The police and the AFM early this afternoon rehearsed the Pope's crossing of the Grand Harbour.

Two patrol boats were used to represent the catamaran to be used by the Pope and the press boat in front. They were ringed by fast AFM and police boats from where armed policemen and soldiers will provide close escort. Other patrol boats were further away.

The Pope will cross from Kalkara to Valletta waterfront on Sunday afternoon between 4.35 p.m. and 5.15 p.m. in what promises to be the most spectacular part of the papal visit.

The Curia this morning invited boat owners to accompany the Pope across the harbour.
