Aercomms were the big winners in Week Five of the Honda National League at the Eden SuperBowl, demolishing opponents Technicolor 8-0 and chalking up the highest team series of the evening - 2,245 pins.

Fina First were held to a draw but still maintained their top placing, four points better than Striking Distance and Aercomms.

After dropping 10 points in the previous three outings, Aercomms were back with a vengeance against Technicolor. They took the first two games 779-677 and 803-663, opening a 242-pin advantage. Technicolor improved but so did the unstoppable Aercomms who won the third 863-752.

Fina Excel were also 8-0 winners when playing against Globalair Travel. After taking game one by a reasonable 29 pins, Fina Excel dominated the second to win by 152.

The third was much closer but again, Fina Excel came out on top by just six pins (707-701). Fina Excel are fourth while Globalair slipped to seventh.

Bottom team Bomba Giants took a handy 6-2 win from their match against Warsteiner. They blasted their opponents with games of 786 and 810 to raise hopes of a whitewash, but a comparatively low 694 in the final game against Warsteiner's 769 cost them a precious two points.

Bomba Giants stay bottom with 12 points but now equal with Telesystems and www.okmalta.com.

There were 4-4 draws in the remaining three matches, starting with that of So-Safe-Striking Distance. Alan Sammut was high man for fifth-placed So-Safe with his 559 set. Kenneth Arpa's 592 made him top for Striking Distance.

Draw no.2 was between Telesystems and league leaders Fina First. In spite of losing the first 614-738, Telesystems came back to win the second 779-752 and the next game 752-733. Fina First were 78 pins better over the series, and Telesystems will be kicking themselves for a low first game which cost them what could have been a giant-killing act over the long-time champs.

The other drawn result was between Maltacom KSSK and www.okmalta.com.
