An Egyptian teenager who lives in Fgura was yesterday granted bail after pleading not guilty to stealing a handbag on a bus in Fgura on Monday.

The contents of the bag did not exceed €233.

The court, presided by Magistrate Anthony Vella, granted bail to the 17-year-old against a personal deposit of €1,000 and imposed a number of conditions on him.

Victor Bugeja was defence counsel and Inspector Robert Said Sarreo prosecuted.
