A motorist has written on facebook about how somebody's negligence could have caused a serious incident, possibly even a tragedy, in Xemxija.

Alex Hilton said he had met 'a potential mass murderer' today.

He said that a truck was being driven along Xemxija with a load of bricks at the back. Many of them fell off onto the opposite lane. The truck stopped, the bricks were removed from the road and the truck continued on its way.

Mr Hilton said he took pictures and called the police, warning them that more bricks could fall off the vehicle unless it was stopped.

"Needless to say, that the lady on 112 took down the Licence Plate number, but within 30 minutes of my call the lorry continued the journey without securing the load and no police office attending to the matter."

He said that after 10 minutes a police car drove by but no action was taken.

"All I can say, today someone could have been easily killed, because of a person that in my view is unfit to drive, careless, reckless and brainfree. More people could have been killed because of ignorance of the police. I consider this a very lucky day," he said.
