Only weeks after being voted as the world’s Number 1 DJ in the prestigious DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll, Dutchman Armin Van Buuren has confirmed he will be performing in Malta in December. The event is being staged by Fresh Events and will also feature fellow Dutch DJ Jochen Miller.
Possibly the most popular international DJ on the Maltese club scene, Van Buuren has a host of accolades to his name, ranging from the Buma Cultuur Pop Award, which he won in 2008, to Best Trance Artist (Beatport), Best Global DJ (IDMA), the Gouden Harp, which is the highest distinction a Dutch artist can receive, besides DJ Mag’s Top DJ for a five times.
It’s also worth mentioning that Van Buuren was named officer in the Order of Oranje-Nassau by Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands in 2011.
This influential artist is also a successful musical ambassador. His recorded work is revered as much as his work in other fields, such as his award-winning radio show A State of Trance and his dedication in running the Armada record label, which he co-founded in 2003 and which has now grown to include 25 imprints.
Despite his success and increasing global popularity, Van Buuren has not rested on his laurels. He continues to strive to seek new sounds, creating engaging electronic music and always with an eye for upcoming talent.
With six studio albums, almost twice as many compilation albums, and a string of hit singles and remixes to his name, it’s guaranteed that whenever Van Buuren steps behind the decks, the party is sure to get started, and it will be no different on December 12, when he performs at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre in Ta’ Qali.
