Wolfsburg’s director of sport Klaus Allofs has confirmed his club are keen on signing Germany international Max Kruse from Borussia Moen-chengladbach.

Reports have been circulating in Germany that the Wolves had reached an agreement with the 27-year-old striker, who has a clause in his Foals contract which would allow him to leave this summer for a pre-established fee, understood to be 12 million euros.

Wolfsburg are certainly keen on him for that price, but Allofs says they are still far from striking a deal.

“It’s widely known that Max Kruse has the opportunity to leave the club,” he told Kicker magazine. “Of course we’re interested in him, but we also know that we’re not the only ones.

“Kruse is a forward with different characteristics from the forwards we already have.”
