There are people on the Labour side saying that Simon Busuttil was the one chosen as new leader of the PN simply because he belongs to the Gonzi clique. They seem to have forgotten that Joseph Muscat was appointed leader of the Labour Party because he belonged to the Alfred Sant clique. With time these things are forgotten.

Of course, what matters is who of the two leaders is most competent and perhaps that is the true reason for Labour’s current agitation with Busuttil’s appointment.
