• We should know how the law protects us when specific problems crop up.

• The holiday bought should be exactly as promised by the travel agency. If not, we are entitled to compensation.

• We should take out a travel insurance policy as soon as we pay the deposit.

• When a significant part of the holiday is altered prior to departure, we should be offered the option of an alternative package or full refund.

• A travel agency cannot be held responsible for extraordinary or unavoidable circumstances.

• If things go wrong while on holiday, we should complain immediately.
