Artists are invited to take part in a competition through which they can exhibit their works at the new Sky Parks Business Centre that is due to be completed by the end of this year at Malta International Airport.

With the support and collaboration of the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, the soon-to-be inaugurated business centre is organising a competition to invite artists to submit their vision for a sculpture or art project to be unveiled during the inauguration of Sky Parks. The selected art project will be displayed in the terrace on level 1, and will be highly visible from the ring road, the airport terminal and the airport car park.

The competition will involve a two-stage competitive process. Stage one will require artists to submit details of the project.

Stage two will involve a short listing process with a number of artists invited to develop their ideas in the form of a scale model. An interview will conclude the selection.

Criteria for selection will include artistic quality and contemporary relevance, technical feasibility, conservation requirements and health and safety issues.

Submissions will be accepted at Sky Parks Development Ltd, Sky Parks Business Centre, Malta International Airport, Luqa 4000, until August 22 at noon.

Application forms and guidelines are available on www.skyparksbusiness.com and on www.mcca.com.mt.
