A 37-year-old man died early yesterday morning following a collision involving his motorcycle and a car in Attard.

The impact was so hard that the victim’s body was only spotted by a helicopter crew five hours later dangling from a tree.

Police said the accident happened at about 3.30 a.m. in Valletta Road, but the Xewkija man’s body was spotted later after a search by the police, the Civil Protection Department and the Armed Forces. He was certified dead at the scene.

The car, a Chrysler 300, was being driven by a 23-year-old from Mġarr towards Attard from Rabat. The driver was seriously injured, according to police. His vehicle was extensively damaged in the crash.
