Having a healthy snack mid-morning and between lunch and dinner has been found to help metabolism and this can help control hunger and avoid wrong food choices, particularly in the evenings.

Such information and valuable tips will be given by state registered nutritionist and physiotherapist Jeremy Ellul in two talks he will deliver on Saturday at St Benedict Boys Secondary in Kirkop.

The one-hour talks, at 9 a.m. and at 10.30 a.m., are organised by KMS Skolasport and sponsored by Kellogg’s.

Mr Ellul will speak about the benefits of eating a healthy balanced diet. His talks will also focus on how cereals contribute to a Mediterranean type diet, today’s culture of eating smaller meals with healthy snacks in between and the importance of portion sizes. He will also refer to nutrition labelling and product information on food packaging.

The talks on nutrition will be repeated on April 21 at KMS Tal-Qroqq Sports Complex and on April 28 at Cottonera Sports Complex, starting at 9 a.m. and at 10.30 a.m.

Those interested can reserve a place by calling KMS Skolasport on 2166 0658/9 or by sending an e-mail to programmes@sportmalta.org.mt.
