Why keep clamouring for the setting up of a marble/bronze memorial for Daphne Caruana Galizia?
Apart from the controversy created as to its siting it could also potentially be a target for defacement by the usual nitwit vandals.
Would it not be more appropriate to endow a Chair for Investigative Journalism or set-up a scholarship scheme for investigative journalism for aspiring journalists in her memory? I am sure the University will consider this proposal if given adequate support.
I think this would have been more acceptable to Caruana Galizia.
Personally I am ready to pledge a month’s salary (from my visiting lectureship) to help make this happen.
