During the summer months we move to our place in Salvatore Cachia Zammit Street, Birżebbuġa, as we have done for the last 35 years.

A field opposite our residence was years ago turned into flats after the destruction of some very large carob trees. This development left a small triangular area between Salvatore Cachia Zammit Street and Triq l-Għansar, which has been turned into a rubbish dump.

Since April 2006, the local council, on behalf of the residents, has written several letters to the authorities asking them to remedy the situation but to no avail. My husband has written to the Prime Minister and, about two years ago, an officer from his office phoned him to say that the work was to be taken in hand. The situation, however, remains unchanged.
