I could not believe my ears when I first heard the announcement on the radio that “Malta approves divorce”.
I since listened to a talk show about the same subject. No, it wasn’t by the Pope or the Archbishop but by Rabbi Daniel Lapin, a popular speaker. Here I quote him briefly: “Public policy decisions do have consequences in our lives. You may not feel the impact right away but feel it you will. Eventually it will impact your children, your finances and most other aspects of your life and not necessarily for the better. Divorce is destructive to the family and to society. The most who suffer are women and children.
“To those who ignore the impact, I say, time has come to choose heaven over earth, and, yes, life over death.”
