Rob Swire, the head physiotherapist at Manchester United, will provide an insight into the way the English giants treat acute sports injuries during a talk at the Fortina Spa Resort in Sliema tomorrow.

Commencing at 7 p.m., Swire’s talk is intended for all medical professionals, trainers and coaches who have an interest in sports medicine.

“This will be Swire’s fourth visit to the Fortina Spa and his talks have always generated significant interest,” Alan Zammit, director of rehabilitation at the Fortina Spa Resort and organiser of the event, said.

“His lectures give local professionals the opportunity to keep tabs on the latest developments in the field of sports medicine and ask questions pertaining to their own experiences.

“Swire has been the head physiotherapist at Manchester United for many years.

“He leads a team of professionals whose job is to treat and oversee the rehabilitation of elite athletes, namely the players at Manchester United.”

Swire’s lecture will be preceded by a short introduction by Wayne Attard, from sponsors Urban Jungle, on the advancements in running footwear.
