The General Workers Union has told Foreign Affairs Ministry officers not to use their work mobile phones and laptops after usual work hours.

This directive was issued after officers were asked to take their phones and laptops home so they could answer telephone calls and e-mails before they return to work the next morning.

Officers are being asked to follow this system on a weekly roster.
