I opened a Tallinja card account and assumed it would give me access to transactions. However, having used my card on a couple of occasions on the Sliema-Valletta ferry, I realised I could not check whether I had been charged the correct amount because all I could view was the balance.

On enquiring, I was told that all I needed to see was my balance. Consequently, I sent them an e-mail querying the system but I never received a reply despite telling them that, unless I heard from them, I would go to the press.

If a company can deduct money from an account, the account holder should be able to check where the money is going as happens in credit card statements, etc.
