A word of thanks to the Church in Malta for expressing public disapproval of those “who make hay while the sun shines while they deprive others of the light of the sun”.

Swieqi, once a lovely residential area with two-storey houses, has not only been marred by ugly so-called development but has become for us who have lived here for many years a place where we have to endure the ordeal of speculative building construction, with all the inconveniences it entails, ruining the peaceful enjoyment of our homes, structural damage, devaluation of our property from additional floors over our heads and, above all, stress and frayed nerves that play havoc with our advanced age.
