Is it not about time that we seriously consider rebuilding, to its former glory, the Royal Opera House in Republic Street? As it is, it is neither ‘fish nor fowl’ – a pathetic part ‘metal Lego’ and part ‘pseudo-Roman’.
On a different note, we little islanders can teach the mighty Americans about fairness in winning elections – at least in our system the winning party gets 50 per cent +1 votes while in their system one candidate gets one million votes plus (more) and, unbelievingly, loses to the other candidate.
What baffles me is why don’t they want to change such a flawed system?
