The last event within the Magic Box 2016 series is a talk taking place today entitled Le tradizioni gastronomiche Siciliane legate alle feste religiose (Sicily and its culinary traditions related to religious festivals).

Francesca Settipani, a Sicilian architect and graphic designer, will take participants on a journey of discovery of Sicilian gastronomy.

Since the time of Ancient Greece, Sicily has adopted a specific style of cooking habits. It has always been ready to enrich its cuisine with new flavours and scents, and as a result, shows traces and contributions belonging to all cultures which have settled in Sicily over the last two millennia. Many dishes and desserts of the Sicilian tradition are closely linked to religious events, as well as to seasons.

■ The talk is taking place in Italian at the Italian Cultural Institute in Valletta at 6.30pm. Entrance is free. Wine and nibbles will be served.
