A 66-year-old man from Sliema is in a critical condition after he fell down the stairs at a block of apartments under construction in Dingli Street, Sliema yesterday.

The police said the accident happened at around 1.30 p.m. An inquiry is being held.

In another incident earlier yesterday, a 38-year-old woman from Naxxar was seriously injured when thevehicle she was driving crashed into a central strip in Mqabba. Her condition is not critical, however.

The police said the woman was driving a Toyota Starlet in Triq il-Konvoj ta’ Santa Marija at around 4.30 a.m.
