Works by top Maltese artists have been brought under one roof as a tribute to neighbouring Italy on the 150th anniversary of its unification.

The exhibition, mounted by environmental group Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar, includes works by Emvin Cremona, Esprit Barthet, Vincent Apap, Giuseppe Arcidiacono, Carmelo Mangion, Rafael Bonnici Calì, C.S. Lawrence, Raymond Pitrè, Ġanni Bonnici, Gabriel Caruana, Pawl Carbonaro, Luciano Micallef, Harry Alden, John Borg Manduca, Zoe Chomarat, Mary de Piro, Richard England, Richard Saliba and Louis Wirth.

It is themed Red, White... and Green, the colours of the Italian national flag.

Viewing at the Italian Cultural Institute, St George’s Square, Valletta, is open today from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. It will close tomorrow at 7 p.m.

The exhibition will include a talk about the care for paintings, polychrome (painted) sculptures and works of art on paper-drawings, engravings and watercolours.

The talk will be given by professional conservators and restorers Joseph Schiro and David F. Bugeja.

They will explain how to care for art works by following simple and effective guidelines.

The talk will be held at the Italian Cultural Institute today at 6.30 p.m. (guests to be seated by 6.15 p.m.). Those interested in attending should book at bookings@faa.org.mt or phone on 9980 6060.
