To celebrate the feast of St Francis as well as World Animal Day, the Island Sanctuary, Tas-Silġ, is holding its annual Open Day today from 9.30am.

There will be a bazaar, book sale, sale of home-made cakes, scones and cookies, face painting, engraving of pet medals and pet grooming.

Activities end with Mass at 4.30pm. Those attending Mass are invited to bring their pets along.

After Mass, pets will be blessed and a token given to each family.

Those who would like to bake cakes for the sanctuary to sell can bring them on the day.

Booking is required for pet grooming.
