Natalie Briffa Farrugia, chief executive of elderly care provider Care Malta, has been elected president of the European Association of Homes and Services for the Ageing.

The EAHSA represents more than 2,500 providers of housing, services and care in the ageing sector spread in 15 different countries, ranging from Norway to Malta and from Ireland to the Russian Federation.

Mrs Briffa Farrugia was appointed president during EAHSA’s fourth European conference which was recently heldin Malta.

Outgoing president Freek Lapré described Ms Briffa Farrugia as “his favourite choice”, saying she had passion for the sector, was a leading provider and was committed to the association.

The Malta conference had Active Ageing: The Challenge For Providers as its theme. This year is the Year of Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations.
