Health Parliamentary Secretary Chris Fearne said Thyronid, a medicine used for thyroid conditions and only available from the pharmacy at Mater Dei Hospital, had always been in stock.

Opposition MP Claudio Grech claimed that it was out of stock and Dr Fearne had promised to investigate.

He said distribution had very briefly been suspended until the price was decided following a change of dosage.

In fact, he said, distribution had been resumed and the price was unchanged.
