I refer to the national census. The government cannot just threaten citizens with penalties or legal action especially when its own officers were negligent in collecting the respective forms!

I was abroad between October 31 and November 19. Asking my neighbours what happened during my abscence I was told that census forms were collected, so within two or three days after the 19th I contacted NSO freephone and it was agreed (I was even asked for my mobile number) that someone would come round and collect my filled-in form.

Nothing happened and I thought my form was apparently not considered important. Meanwhile I travelled abroad again between December 2 and 19. Again no calls, no inquiries… this seemed to confirm my suspicion that my form was definetely not important.

Then out of the blue I read that following a reconciliation, census forms not recieved would be followed up with legal action!

I hope posting my census form now will rectify the matter but I insist that the government has to put its house in order before rushing to any legal pressure!
