The phrase “to reflect on the quality of the individuals mentioned earlier” in my contribution of June 1 should have read “to reflect on the quality of the statement made by the individuals mentioned earlier”. I presume it was a typo in the compilation of the letters to the editor. People might affect me in any which way and I would certanly have no qualms saying how they affect me or expressing my humble opinion on what they say or do. But I would certainly never dare judge a person’s “quality”. I wouldn’t even know how to start assessing it even if I had the presumptuousness to want to try.
