Directors and staff at Ripoffs Estate Agents Ltd hold extremely successful staff bonding weekend

Directors and staff at Malta’s premier property seller, Ripoffs Estate Agents Ltd, held an extremely successful staff bonding weekend on Comino recently. Events such as paint-balling, grenade juggling, mud wrestling, (the ladies won this comprehensively) and bonfire hurdling added to the fun.

The weekend was climaxed with a grand barbecue, at which junior members of Ripoffs Estate Agents Ltd staff presented bouquets to the wives of the directors. This was also a complete success, apart from a minor spat sparked by Mrs Evelyn Sant Ripoff, the wife of the company chairman Mr Norbert Sant Ripoff, who demanded to know why the bouquet presented to the wife of deputy chairman Peter Depasquale Rizzo was bigger than the one she was presented with.

But all in all everyone concerned agreed there is no doubt that the weekend was an unqualified success, and company chairman Mr Norbert Sant Ripoff stated: “There is no doubt that the weekend was an unqualified success.”

Damian and Stan’s spring collection launched in a spectacular fashion show in the Gloxinia rooms of the Opulenta Palace Hotel

Iconic haute couture designers Damian and Stan recently launched their spring collection in a spectacular fashion show in the Gloxinia Rooms of the Opulenta Palace Hotel.

Before an audience of appreciative fashionistas, their models displayed a wide range of haute couture designs from Damian and Stan’s exclusive Spring 2017 range. The pair were faithful to their known penchant for using an array of fabrics in bright – some might say – garish colours. Each new outfit was greeted by an enthusiastic round of applause from the audience packed into the Gloxinia Rooms.

Attending the launch were the usual suspects: fashion writers, store buyers, haute couture dilettantes and free drinks hangers-on.

The climax of the show was a wedding dress (pictured above) fit for a glamorous society spring wedding. Manufactured from 2,500 metres of ivory Thai silk, the creation was modelled by Stan himself, who made a stunningly pretty picture as he was escorted down the catwalk… and back again – by his husband and partner Damian.

Glittering launch of Laponte’s exciting new fragrance: Glow (Represented in Malta by Cheapopharm Ltd of San Ġwann)

At a glittering launch of Laponte’s exciting new fragrance: Glow (Represented in Malta by Cheapopharm Ltd of San Ġwann), managing director Mr Alphonse Salgado Salamone (Nineteenth from the left in the photo above) told the glittering array of invited guests, to deafening applause, that his company was proud to represent Laponte in the Maltese islands.

Then, to further even louder applause, he unveiled Laponte’s exciting new fragrance: Glow. This he described as: having hints of musk, plus a soupcan of citrus, with underlying floral tinges… but with an overlying aroma of perspiring, pregnant mare.

Present for this glittering launch were all the usual freeloaders from the ad agencies, plus the inevitable assortment of media types all climbing over one another to get their leering photo into one of the local glossies.

As they departed, each honoured guest was presented with a miniscule phial of Glow… represented in Malta by Cheapopharm Ltd of San Ġwann.

For your diary

• A festive bazaar will be held next Tuesday on the forecourt of the Marsa Abattoir. Bargains galore in pigs livers and kidneys, plus ox tongues kemm trid. Each child will receive a bag of kirxa. An ‘offaly’ good time is guaranteed.

• The San Ġwann Over 90s Drama Club will present their Christmas panto – Geriatrics in the Wood – at the San Ġwann parish centre next Friday, Saturday and Sunday… (God willing). Entrance free, but a donation to ‘Segways for Seniles’ would be much appreciated.

• The San Ġwann annual children’s Christmas party will be held next Friday in the bomb shelter beneath the council offices car park. Junk food will be served; after which games will be played. All children from the San Ġwann area are welcome, but their behaviour in the early part of the evening will determine what part they will play in the gateau throwing game. Good kids will be the throwers and naughty little sods will be the targets. Order will be kept throughout by the presence of the SAS. A visit from the ‘Krismiss Farthair’ is a distinct possibility.
