She may have started out as a budding actress in her childhood, but even then, singer Talitha already had a musical inclination, forming part of a choir and later also taking classical singing lessons.
Today, she is also well-known as a popular drivetime radio DJ, but her love of music has not waned at all. In fact, Talitha recently collaborated with Danish artist Jesper Ejrup, in releasing a brand new single Why.
The song was recorded and produced at Ejrup’s Heartbeat Productions in Denmark, while Talitha’s vocals were recorded locally at Niki Gravino’s Foreface Studios.
A rock-edged upbeat pop song, Why has quickly picked up a lot of airplay by several local stations, even reaching the number 5 spot on Bay Radio’s Malta Top 10 chart.
Ejrup first met Talitha when he was looking for a Maltese artist to work with. It only took a short jam session before the two realised there was a certain chemistry that connected them musically.
“Talitha is into rock and was after a catchy song that had a rock element to it,” Ejrup said.
“I came up with a killer riff, a few bars, and within an hour, we had the song. She took it home and tweaked the lyrics to give them her own ‘feel’”.
