Certain local councils and other organisations are taking the initiative to organise wonderful activities in their localities. Some are becoming annual events, such as food festivals and heritage shows featuring traditional crafts and entertainment. However it is always the busiest thoroughfares which are chosen for these events.

The Christmas activity held at Naxxar parish square is one recent example.

I appeal to local councils, when choosing a venue for any outside activity, not only to opt for one that causes the least traffic inconvenience, but also to highlight the reason for their choice to its locals and particularly to the media. Then perhaps other councils and organisations will follow suit.
