I was on holiday in Malta in August 1962, staying with an English schoolfriend’s family in Sliema. His father was a member of the forces.

I was 17 at the time and from Northern Ireland. I was friendly with a James Farrugia and would like to contact him again.

In 1962 we used to sunbathe, go swimming at St Julian’s Point (in front of St Julian’s tower, down by the sea) and this is where I met James.

He was the only one who would go into the sea carrying a harpoon and would return with a baby octopus!

The schoolfriend I was staying with was called Nic (or Nick). James would remember him – he had a shock of red curly hair.

James would be in his late 60s now. I’d heard he worked for the social services and was told he has moved away from Sliema. I’d love to contact him. My telephone number is 7932 6367.
