“I use routes 31 and 106 on a daily basis, and the service is far too unreliable. The buses are supposed to pass by every 15 minutes, but I regularly have to wait much longer at the bus stop, and when they do pass by, the buses are often full up and so keep going.

“I believe there should have been better planning of the routes and frequencies, and more of a balance, to avoid situations where people are kept waiting on bus stops only for three buses to pass in a few minutes, or to see one empty bus after another going in the other direction.” Daniela Said, BA Music and Psychology, first year.

“Being Gozitan, I must say that the service in Gozo has improved, and the buses I use pass frequently enough, but the bus schedule hasn’t been set up well with relation to the ferry schedule and I’ve often ended up missing the ferry or bus as a result of the lack of coordination.

“Apart from the routes and schedules, there is also a space problem, buses are overcrowded and we seldom find place to sit down, and rarely is there even space for our luggage.

“If the service is to improve, new schedules are definitely needed.” Julie Sultana, BA Tourism, first year.

“The buses from Santa Luċija retained the same routes as the old system, and I haven’t had many problems with reliability or overcrowding, but the frequency has decreased from a half-hourly to an hourly service, and the punctuality of the service is still far from perfect.

“I’d also prefer to see a return to the old prices, as the new ones are a bit too expensive.” Ann Falzon, BSc Nursing, first year.
