A Malta School of Arts student is taking part in the Best Europa Stamp Contest with his design of a 37c stamp.

Nicole Sciberras’s design will be among others issued by the 49 postal administration members of PostEurop.

The yearly online competition started in 2002 and this year’s theme is forests, after the UN declared 2011 as the international year of forests.

The Maltese stamp shows Ms Sciberras’s personal interpretation of forests in the island’s context. Voting is open until Sunday at www.posteurop.org/europacompetition and the winning stamp will be announced in Turkey next October.
