Hundreds of comments are flowing in following the first roll-call vote in Parliament on the introduction of divorce in Malta.
While this is not surprising, most comments are superfluous and serve only to foment more rancour.
After all, it is the judgement of the electorate at the next general election that will deliver the ultimate valid comment on the vote of each parliamentarian who presents him/herself for re-election. The judgement of the Maltese society on the effects of the introduction of divorce on the family will have to follow later.
