Soprano Hannah Bonnici and pianist Julia Miller will perform a number of romantic songs and arias during today’s lunchtime concert in aid of St Francis of Assisi church in Republic Street, Valletta.

The programme includes arias by prominent European composers. The soprano will be singing Tchaikovsky April and two arias by the Latvian composer Jãnis Medinš. She will also perform a lieder song by Hugo Wolf, an Austrian composer of Slovene origin who was mostly known for his intense lieder songs. The programme ensues with two songs by Robert Schumann Mondnacht and Er, der herrlichste von allen, followed by an aria written by Samuel Barber Sure on This Shining Night and Paolo Tosti’s April.

Miller will perform Johannes Brahms’s Intermezzo in A op. 118 and Claude Debussy’s The First Arabesque.
