Webber: Norwich have confirmed the appointment of Stuart Webber as the club’s new sporting director. The 33-year-old joins the Canaries from Huddersfield where he was previously head of football operations. Webber had been placed on garden leave by the Terriers two weeks ago after expressing a desire to leave, with City having identified him as their first choice.
Defour: Steven Defour faces a fitness test ahead of Burnley’s Premier League trip to Middlesbrough tomorrow. The Belgium midfielder suffered a blow to the leg in Tuesday’s victory over Stoke, a match that had seen the 28-year-old make his first start in more than two months after a hamstring injury. “We are having that checked out. Taylor memorial: Watford will pay tribute to former manager Graham Taylor with a memorial pre-season match against Aston Villa on July 29. Taylor, who died on January 12 aged 72, managed both Watford and Villa before going on to take charge of England and Wolves. He then returned for second spells with the Hornets and Villa before his retirement from management.
Piszczek: Poland international Lukasz Piszczek has agreed a new two-year contract with Borussia Dortmund. The experienced right-back, who has won two Bundesliga titles and the DFB-Pokal since joining from Hertha Berlin in 2010, will stay with the club until the summer of 2019.
