Barton: Joey Barton will be made to train with Rangers’ youth teams after he was told to report back to the club’s training base. The 34-year-old has not been seen at the Auchenhowie facility for almost two months following a blazing row with boss Mark Warburton in the wake of September’s 5-1 Old Firm drubbing by Celtic. But Rangers have now confirmed Barton can return to work after announcing the conclusion of the midfielder’s disciplinary procedure.

Great signing: Yeovil gave talented 13-year-old goalkeeper Daryl Allinson, who has battled to recover from a rare form of leukaemia, a day to remember after announcing the teenager as their latest signing. Allinson’s family sought to raise up to £100,000 for treatment. With Daryl now recovering at home in Frome and able to return his focus to football, the League Two club looked to help raise awareness of the boy’s condition and push the fund-raising efforts along.

Lifetime ban: FIFA’s investigatory chamber has recommended an aide to former presidential candidate Mohamed Bin Hammam be banned for life from all football activities after completing an investigation into payments made to several football officials. The body wants Najeeb Chirakal to be punished for allegedly breaching seven of the scandal-hit football body’s rules. The charges included infringements to FIFA’s rules on general conduct, conflicts of interest, offering and accepting gifts, bribery and corruption.

Kranjcar: Rangers midfielder Niko Kranjcar will be out of action for the next six months after suffering cruciate knee ligament damage. The 32-year-old Croatian suffered the injury in training last month and medical checks have confirmed the serious nature of the problem. Former QPR, Portsmouth and Tottenham player Kranjcar joined Rangers on a two-year contract in the summer. Rangers could seek a short-term replacement.

Ramsey: Aaron Ramsey is back in the Wales squad after injury for next week’s key World Cup qualifier against Serbia in Cardiff. Ramsey played 75 minutes of Arsenal’s Champions League victory over Ludogorets on Tuesday – his first appearance since mid-August. And Wales manager Chris Coleman has immediately restored him to the squad for a game that has taken on added significance after Wales’s last two qualifiers against Austria and Georgia ended in draws.
