PA gaffe: Bournemouth have confirmed they are investigating how a foul-mouthed message was accidentally played over their public address system during the 5-1 defeat to Tottenham yesterday. Towards the end of the game, the PA microphone appeared to be accidentally switched on and the whole ground heard a conversation between two men. In summing up their views on the game, one claimed “it’s f****** unbelievable, men against boys” – to the amusement of most of the crowd. Both sets of supporters sang “You’re getting sacked in the morning” and, after the match, a Bournemouth spokesman confirmed that the incident will be investigated.

Charlton: Charlton are looking for their fifth manager in less than 20 months after Guy Luzon was sacked following Saturday’s humbling at the hands of Brentford. Appointed head coach at the Valley in January, things initially looked good for the Israeli as the Addicks finished 12th last season. However, a torrid start to the Championship campaign has cost Luzon his job, with the club wielding the axe after Saturday’s embarrassing 3-0 defeat to London rivals Brentford.

Kuyt: Dirk Kuyt scored a hat-trick for a second successive weekend to help Feyenoord beat AZ Alkmaar 3-1 at home, keeping them alongside Ajax at the top of the league. Kuyt opened the scoring inside the first quarter-hour but the lead lasted only five minutes before AZ’s Joris van Overeem equalised. A second goal came in a melee with Bart Nieuwkoop’s goalmouth effort deflecting in off Kuyt in the 59th minute before he completed the hat-trick with a 77th-minute penalty.

Dortmund: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hit a hat-trick as Borussia Dortmund kept up their pursuit of Bayern Munich with a 5-1 win over Augsburg. The Gabon international took his record to 20 goals in 17 games in all competitions this season, with Marco Reus grabbing a brace in a rout against the Bundesliga’s bottom side.

Celtic: Celtic are looking into the possibility of setting up a franchise club in the United States. Initial talks have already taken place between representatives of the club and the North American Soccer League, which is the second tier league in the US.
