Charged: The Scottish FA faces disciplinary action from FIFA after Croatia fans set off a flare during this month’s World Cup qualifier at Hampden Park. Travelling sup-porters fired the flare on to the track around the pitch during the Group A encounter on October 15. They also let off smoke bombs during the match – won 2-0 by Scotland – but the SFA could be punished along with the Croatian federation because it was responsible for security at the game.

Malmo: Malmo secured a 17th Swedish league title with a 2-0 win at champions Elfsborg last night thanks to a brace from striker Guillermo Molins in stormy conditions. Molins struck in the 36th and 70th minutes to hand Malmo a victory that puts them on 60 points with one game left, giving them an unassailable five-point lead over second-placed AIK Stockholm.

Gnabry: Arsenal forward Serge Gnabry has signed a new long-term contract with the Premier League leaders yesterday. The 18-year-old Germany international signed his first professional contract in mid-2012, and has made four league appearances, scoring in the 2-1 victory over Swansea in September.

Walker: Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker has signed a new contract that will keep him in north London until 2019. The 23-year-old, capped nine times by England, has made 83 league appearances for Spurs, scoring twice. He joined Tottenham from Sheffield United in 2009, spending loan spells back at the Sheffield club, QPR and Aston Villa before establishing himself at Spurs.

Ajax: Ajax coach Frank de Boer and his players had a lucky escape as they prepared for today’s KNVB Beker Cup tie with amateur side ASWH. De Boer and his side were preparing for the home tie when they decided to leave the temporary building they were training in only for it to blow down later in high winds. The coach said: “This was a good choice (to leave the building). A storm is the worst circumstance in which to train.”
