Celtic: Celtic made a pre-tax profit of almost £10 million last season after a near 50 per cent jump in revenue. The Scottish champions have announced a profit before tax of £9.74 million in the year to the end of June 2013. Celtic, boosted by their run to the last 16 of the Champions League, brought in group revenue of £75.8 million, up 48 per cent on the previous 12 months.

Bendtner: Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is set to play his first competitive game for Arsenal in over two years tomorrow as Arsene Wenger rotates his squad for the League Cup. The Dane last played for the Gunners in their 2-0 Premier League defeat by Liverpool in August 2011 but is likely to make his 100th appearance for the side he joined eight years ago in the third-round match at West Brom.

Nautico: Nautico have named their seventh coach of the season after firing Levi Gomes, who was in charge of the Brazilian side for only 16 days. Marcelo Martelotte was named as the latest incumbent after a goalless draw at home to Flamengo in the Brazilian championship on Sunday. The other coaches to try their luck this season were Alexandre Gallo, Vagner Man-cini, Silas, Ze Teodoro and Jorginho, who was in charge for five matches.

Gignac: Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac is likely to miss next week’s Champions League clash at Borussia Dortmund with a foot injury. “Verdict: toe tendon problem! 7 to 10 days,” he wrote on his Twitter feed yesterday. Marseille, fourth in Ligue 1 with 11 points from six games, will definitely be without Gignac at home to St Etienne today and at Lorient on Saturday.

Dunga: Internacional coach Dunga was told his job was safe despite being taunted by his team’s own fans during a 1-0 home defeat by Portuguesa in the Brazilian championship. The ex-Brazil coach had to endure chants of “Goodbye Dunga” as his side, playing almost the entire second half with 10 men, lost for the second time in four days.

Duarte: Gabon have parted ways with coach Paulo Duarte following their failure to qualify for next year’s World Cup. The Portuguese, who was 18 months into a two-year contract, took over from Gernot Rohr following the 2012 African Nations Cup during which hosts Gabon were eliminated on penalties by Mali in the quarter-finals.
