Valencia: Valencia have agreed to hire former Serbia coach Miroslav Djukic to replace the departing Ernesto Valverde and lead their Europa League, La Liga and King’s Cup campaigns next season. The club posted a video on their website of the Serb arriving in Valencia to sign his contract and said he would be presented to the media today.

Schurrle: Andre Schurrle’s on-off move from Bayer Leverkusen to Chelsea may have hit a snag over the involvement of Blues youngster Kevin de Bruyne in the deal. Borussia Dortmund’s director of sport Michael Zorc claims De Bruyne wants to join his side and not their Bundesliga rivals. Reports say Schurrle has already agreed terms with Chelsea.

Schweinsteiger: Bayern Munich holding midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has undergone minor foot surgery but will be ready to start pre-season training. Sch-weinsteiger, who helped Bayern win a treble of European Cup and German league and cup titles this season, was operated on Monday to remove bone fragments, the club said. The Germany international has already returned to Munich.

Jesus: Benfica coach Jorge Jesus signed a new two-year deal yester-day, ending speculation over his future after a calamitous end to the season when the Lisbon side were pipped to the title by Porto and lost two cup finals. Jesus will remain with Benfica until 2015, the club said in a statement.

Townsend: England U-21 winger Andros Townsend was banned and fined for betting offences by the FA but he will still be available for the start of next season. The Tottenham player was fined £18,000 but three months of his four-month ban were suspended until July 1, 2016, leaving him free to resume playing well in advance of the next campaign.
