CASILLAS: Goalkeeper and club captain Iker Casillas was included in Real Madrid’s squad to host Levante in La Liga but will not start the game, assistant coach Aitor Karanka said yesterday. Spain’s 2010 World Cup winning captain was passed fit to return to training after recovering from a broken finger a couple of weeks ago, but has not made the cut for their last two matches against Real Zaragoza and Galatasaray.

MATCH-FIXING: The South African government has agreed to set up a judicial inquiry into recent match-fixing scandals involving the national team with backing from FIFA. Several of South Africa’s warm-ups before they hosted the 2010 World Cup were found to have been fixed, which led to the brief suspension of senior SAFA officials, including its president Kirsten Nematandani. FIFA had previously written to the South African government saying the matter should be handled by the country’s football association rather than the judiciary.

SOUTHAMPTON: Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino hopes to have Artur Boruc and Adam Lallana fit for today’s trip to Reading. Poland goalkeeper Boruc was forced off at half-time of last weekend’s 2-1 defeat of Chelsea due to dizziness, although he returned to training on Monday. Lallana missed the game due to a slight groin problem but could feature against former manager Nigel Adkins at the Madejski Stadium.

KATIDIS: AEK Athens midfielder Giorgos Katidis has been banned for five matches, fined €1,000 ($1,300) and forbidden from entering any sports stadiums after his Nazi-salute goal celebration, the Greek Football Federation (EPO) announced. Since the 20-year-old has already been suspended by his club until the end of the Super League season, the five-game ban handed by the EPO yesterday was only symbolic.

PSG: Paris SG will be without centre-back Alex for today’s game at Stade Rennes. Brazilian Alex picked up a thigh problem during PSG’s 2-2 home draw against Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-final first leg on Tuesday but he is expected to be fit for next week’s return leg at the Nou Camp.

SCOTTISH PREMIER: Inverness vs  St Johnstone 0-0.

LEAGUE TWO: Port Vale vs Burton 7-1.
