The Malta Volleyball Association (MVA) has maintained its commitment towards the youth sector by presenting a number of official balls to the clubs who are actively participating in the U-14 and U-16 competitions, the MVA said in a statement.

Over the past six years, the junior sector has received a much-needed boost with young female players gaining more international exposure after taking part in the Junior Small Nations European competitions.

The MVA has, in recent years, introduced training sessions, two every week, for U-14, U-16 and U-18 teams under the guidance of national coach Tibor Stranacek.

This year, five teams are competing in the U-16 girls league which has been relaunched after a long absence.

Six teams are taking part in the U-14 league while a good number of schools have shown great enthusiasm for the game when participating in a tournament recently.
