Maradona: Diego Maradona reassured his fans he was feeling fine after undergoing treatment for kidney stones. The 51-year-old said he will be fit to supervise tomorrow’s training session with his Dubai club Al-Wasl in preparation for their match against Sharjah on January 23.

Naldo: Werder Bremen will be without defender Naldo when they return from the Bundesliga winter break on Saturday at Kaiserslautern as he is sidelined with an injury to his left knee. “It’s nothing – I hope to be back for the home game against Bayer Lever-kusen on January 28,” the 29-year-old stated regarding his ligament problem.

Samba: Blackburn Rovers insisted yesterday captain Chris Samba was not for sale after the defender submitted a transfer request. Samba has been linked with a move to QPR following the appointment of former Rovers boss Mark Hughes at Loftus Road last week. But the 27-year-old Congolese international’s request has been batted away by Black-burn chiefs, who stressed the player would not be sold.

Holland: Australian international midfielder James Holland has signed a contract to play with Austria Vienna until the summer of 2013. Holland impressed coach Ivica Vastic when he trained with the squad and he was asked to make the transfer move from his present club AZ Alkmaar although he is currently on loan at Sparta Rotterdam.

Pudil: Czech winger Daniel Pudil will leave Belgian top-flight side Genk for Spanish outfit Granada in the summer after signing a 5.5-year deal last week, his agent Ondrej Chovanec said. Before moving to Spain, the 26-year-old Pudil will spend spring on a loan with Italian Serie A side Cesena. Pudil has scored two goals in 22 games for the Czech Republic national team.
