Forgiveness is the tool for healing and making room for our inner beauty that is life’s light, according to spiritual healer David L. Cunningham.

Dr Elizabeth Kubler-Ross once said: “People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in; their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.”

So why would humans not be able to permanently shine their light/beauty? Is it because they are in deep pain? So many of us are unaware of the journey of life and get confused when so-called bad things happen to them versus going with what life offers. If we are not able to process what happens in a constructive manner and think we are victims, the inner beauty/light cannot shine. Forgiveness is the tool for healing and making room for our inner beauty.

Unfortunately and most commonly, this journey of life process is not really explained to us. We are born, parents do their best, and we become academically educated, marry, have kids, grow old and die. No one explains that life is an incredible journey for the soul to experience itself in full glory. Life is living a process to learn and then know deeply what love is not in order to know what true love really is.

Our cultures, built on countless organisations, don’t teach such things clearly. Our schools and universities offer, in majority, academic studies with no spiritual guidelines about what we are doing here in life.

In order for inner beauty to shine, we have to deal with our earthly experiences in a constructive, positive way – not as a victim. We must learn to look at every hurtful experience as an opportunity to love and forgive all who have harmed us. This seemingly simple way of life is difficult for most humans because the ego gets bruised and refuses to budge: “Why should I forgive?” And yet the most powerful way to move forward in life is to use the love within. We can all bring it out from the depths of our being and use it, especially in relationships.

Our inner beauty/light cannot shine brightly if we are holding onto negative thoughts, word and deeds. Loving actively, and even amid negativity, is the way. Love and forgiveness reveal the exquisite inner beauty of our soul, which shines through the darkness of any past or present unforgiveness.
