I am writing to complain about the lack of responsibility showed by both the local council of St Paul’s Bay and Enemalta regarding a street light that has been spent since April. I am referring to a bulb on a pole in Triq il-Fuħħ, Xemxija.

I had lodged a complaint with the council in April and practically every subsequent month I enquired about its outcome.

I was regularly told that the report had been sent to Enemalta because it was its responsibility since the bulb was fixed to a pole. I was also given the reference number – 21513079197291 – in order to communicate with Enemalta so that the process might be hastened. This I did several times and, lately, I was told by Enemalta that, on September 13, the council was informed that it was their responsibility. The local council is insisting that they haven’t been informed of anything and the responsibility is Enemalta’s.

So here we are, still without light at Triq il-Fuħħar since April. Why? Because St Paul’s local council is saying that it is the responsibility of Enemalta and Enemalta is insisting that it is the responsibility of the council. Whose responsibility is it?
