Anomalies in service pensions are expected to be tackled further next year, with the government announcing an extra €200 tax credit.

This measure is expected to benefit some 5,000 pensioners and will cost the government €1.6 million.

Pensioners over 75 will also continue to receive an additional €300 a year over and above their pension.

The government announced that former dockyard workers would also benefit from a better assimilation in their pensions according to the year in which they retired.
