Aaron Sagaelu is exhibiting a new series of paintings at the Electro Lobster Project, St Julian’s, until August 18.

Numbers: Time Machine by Aaron Sagaelu

For this collection, entitled Halfway, Sagaelu was inspired by his favourite authors, Herman Hesse and Isaac Asimov. During the launch, the artist unveiled his third work in the series Giants: Half Way – From Hesse to Asimov.

Sagaelu was born near Genoa in 1964 and lived in Germany, France, the US and Italy before moving to Malta in 2012. He has worked as a creative director, with his artwork depicting emotional sensibility and reflecting a multicultural influence.

He is inspired by, among others, the Bauhaus movement, Le Corbusier, Cacharel, Joe Pomodoro and Gae Aulenti. Sagaelu lists music as the most significant inspiration in his works, through Sylvian, Sakamoto, Einaudi, Bach and Chopin.

The Halfway exhibition is part of a budding project by Art Malta on Tour and Saga Euro Tour with the aim to give the opportunity to artists to develop a customer engagement strategy and encourage communication through art.
