I refer to the editorial ‘A warped sense of autonomy’ (August 4), whereby I am described as “the man to go to when a planning application is unlikely to be accepted”. Please allow me to point out the following.

I graduated as a perit in 1997. In 2004, I obtained a Master’s degree in conservation technology of masonry buildings. Later, I completed an LLD.

Incidentally, my doctoral thesis focused on planning legislation. I plan to go further.

Again, the subject is judicial interpretation of development planning related law.

So the Times of Malta should know very well that my subject is planning law.

As pointed out above, this newspaper chose to describe me as “the man to go to when a planning application is unlikely to be accepted”.

I am quite sure that such comment lacks any bad intention and should therefore be taken at face value.

The Times of Malta will certainly tell me I should take its word as a compliment. But, really and truly, there are other colleagues who are equally competent.
