Over a year ago, I drew the attention of the St Paul’s Bay council, of Minister Austin Gatt and of Transport Malta to a treacherous pedestrian crossing in Triq San Pawl, St Paul’s Bay, a few metres from the police station. Despite various reminders to the local council and to Transport Malta, nothing has been done to solve this problem.
Meanwhile, schoolchildren, accompanied by their parents, use this pedestrian crossing at considerable risk.
Why is Transport Malta dragging its feet to grant permission to the local council to act on behalf of all those using this crossing? After all, the council had agreed to move this pedestrian crossing.
Do we have to wait for an accident to take place before action is taken to address the situation?
